Competition Rules & Evaluation Criteria

1.  Eligibility

  1. Open only to currently enrolled and graduating students of Chung Yuan Christian University and participants of the 2025 CYCU International Summer Project Design Camp.
  2. Each team must consist of 1 to 4 members, and cross-department or cross-year collaboration is allowed.
  3. All projects must use Intel’s OpenVINO™ Toolkit as the core framework and demonstrate a practical application of AI technology.

2. Competition Schedule

  • Registration Period: From now until Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
  • Preliminary Round: August 1 (Fri) to August 18 (Mon), 2025
  • Final Round: Tentatively scheduled for August 20 (Wedn), 2025, to be held on-site at Chung Yuan Christian University. Further details will be announced.

3. Preliminary Evaluation (Written Report Review)

Participating teams must submit a written project report by the specified deadline (2025.08.18 23:59), including project background, objectives, technical methods, results, and implementation details. A panel of expert judges will evaluate submissions based on the following criteria:

Level of Completion 30%
Report Clarity and Completeness 40%

Teams will be selected to advance to the final presentation round based on the written evaluation.

4. Final Round Evaluation (Live Presentation)

Finalists must deliver an oral presentation and demonstrate their project on-site during the final round. Evaluation will be based on the following criteria:

Technical Depth and Completeness 30%
Innovation and Creativity 30%

Based on a comprehensive evaluation of each team’s performance, the judging panel will award the Top 3 Excellence Awards, 3 Merit Awards, and 3 Honorable Mentions. One team will also be selected for the Best Creativity Award.

5. Notes

  1. Participants must ensure originality of their work and comply with all relevant intellectual property laws.
  2. Each team may only submit one report, and must designate one team leader as the point of contact.
  3. The organizer reserves the right to amend the competition content, evaluation criteria, and awards. Any changes will be publicly announced.
